A keypad on one side, media player on the other

The least pocket-filling of all the phones we checked out, the 0.4-inch-thin UpStage uses a two-faced design: a keypad on one side, media player on the other. But some of the phone tasks (dialing, texting, entering contacts) must be handled on a minuscule 1.3-inch screen, and the constant flipping, just... More

This phone features an excellent music player and a unique--if ultimately impractical--two-sided design.

I might be dating myself here, but do you remember those Reese's Peanut Butter Cups ads that hawked chocolate peanut butter cups under the slogan, "Two great tastes that taste great together"?  Every time I used the Samsung UpStage over the past few weeks I thought... More

I have to admit that when I first removed the Samsung UpStage from it's yellow Sprint box, I was enthralled with it. Without having yet turned it on, I told my wife how "cool" it was. I knew what its capabilities were, and the physical design was quite appealing. That seemed a recipe for success.

Works perfectly well, and music sounds excellent

Alas, the Apple iPhone is still months away. While you're waiting, why not check out Samsung's UpStage, one of the niftiest music-oriented cell phones running, but not one without its flaws. The innovative design takes some getting used to: At first blush the phone is a standard candy bar handset with... More

Fun at First, but the Fun Doesn't Last

Although this phone is unique and fun looking, it is quite a letdown. I love the size of the phone, but the flipping back and and forth becomes annoying. The touchpad on the back becomes annoyingly stubborn and doesn't always do what you want it to. Although it boasts an MP3 player, if you get a... More

Pro: nice design and feel.

Con: Having to flip the phone to make calls,
Touch pad doesn't respond,
Wait time for applications is way too long,
Screen resolution is the worst i've ever seen,
And there are alot more cons than i want to list right now.

I hate this phone. I have had it for 1.5 years and now the battery is gone on the phone. One call and it is dead. At first it had great battery power and my only complaint was the touch screen, very frustrating. Terrible for browsing the web. Now I am stuck with a phone that doesn't work and another... More

this phone lasted a year and a half before it just stopped working without any indication. now, you see a lot of reviews here regarding the user interface, dual screens, and what not. obviously this is how the phone was designed, and some people will complain, some will not. I personally found the design... More
