The Samsung M360 is an entry-level phone. Nothing exciting happening here; no ground-breaking news to report. Still, for many folks, a well-built, simple phone is all they want and need.
To that end the M360 reports in with fine marks. This well-built clamshell offers the proven and familiar alpha-numeric keypad, a D-pad navigation array, an external display that provides time, date, battery-remaining info and signal strength information, along with an internal display that is clear and doesn’t make you squint.
With so much talk about smartphones and giant touchscreen displays, it’s easy to forget that many people want, get this, a competent phone that sounds good and is easy to use. So kudos to Samsung for breathing life into the proven flip form factor with solid build materials and even a dedicated “send message” button to help the less techno-amazed among us assume a posture of competency and perhaps a willingness to take a chance, send a text, but on their time, not anyone else’s.
For those who fit such a description, this CDMA phone will keep you in touch, and even offers a 1.3MP camera, a full suite of entry-level features including alarm, calendar, calculator, etc., and a talk time of up to 6.2 hours.
For the pragmatic folks who don’t need the latest version of mobile PowerPoint, for those who just want to dial a number and reach the person on the other end, the Samsung M360 is a fine fit.
