I believe the Samsung Highlight (SGH-T749) offered by T-Mobile in the US is essentially the same device as the Samsung Impact (SGH-T746) offered by Bell Mobility and Virgin Mobile in Canada.
I was looking for a cell phone with smartphone-like features. I think I found a great option in the Samsung Impact/Highlight.

If you understand that this is not an iphone or blackberry, then it's a great phone. Camera is surprisingly good and buy a cheap mini SD card for $10 and you have pretty much unlimited 3,0 megapix photos. Great for snapping random pictures.
Keyboard rotates with your phone as you type and touchscreen... More

I got this phone to replace an LG flip phone. I made sure to read all reviews and decided to go with this. I'm very happy with all the features, I basically got the best phone around without having to pay anything for it, or sign a data plan.
But there are 2 minor problems I have with it; the Touch... More

Please do not think this is a rant: there really IS so much wrong with this phone.
-Very short battery life (about 5-6 hours at full charge). I end up charging my phone twice a DAY when I charged my old phone (a very cheap phone that cost me 10 dollars) once every 3 days. Another negative is that, when... More

In an effort to save money, I ordered this phone when I renewed my contract with T-Mobile. I had been using a Blackberry Curve for some time now, but the discounted data plan I got with the phone originally no longer existed, so all the bells and whistles it would cost me nearly $35 in comparison to... Got this for my son. He loved the phone. Almost cried when we had to send it back. We didn't like the coverage that T-mobile provided so we returned new phones and cancelled contract.

I absolutely love my phone and have had no problems with it so far. I keep a full battery charge all day long and have never had any dropped calls! I used to have the Samsung Behold before a terrible car accident, and I replaced it awhile later with this one. I like it even better than the first generation... More

Hmm, smartphone, dumbphone, what's the difference? This phone can email, text, get RSS feeds, browse web, etc. etc. Runs any/all mobile websites + can run Mini Opera.
Big plus: only requires T-Mobile's $10/month dataplan. Yes, the snobs may lust over their "smartphones", but... More

This phone does everything I was hoping for and more. The internet service speed is faster than my husband's new Blackberry and it's easier to navigate.
My only (very tiny) complaint is that when the alarm goes off, it's very easy to push any button (on the side of the phone) accidentally... More

I've had my phone for 6 months. Love it. Does what a phone should do. Holds a charge, which was a problem with past phones. Fun, easy to use, nice design. Camera takes crystal clear digital shots and video. So what if the songs play in alphebetical order. And for the fella who didn't... More

The phone does everything I want it to plus a lot more. No, this is not a smart phone as one review tried to imply. It has great graphics is very easy to learn how to use. Great battery life compared to previous phones I have had. It has great voice recognition that learns on its own. Overall, I... More

I have purchased this phone with a T-mobile 2 year contract. Before I bought anything, I called amazon cell phone customer service line and explained to them what kind of a phone I want. I got this phone because I broke my G1. I didn't want to shell out 400 dollars to get a new one so I asked for phones that had real web browsing. I was in love with this phone. It's cute and small compared to the G1. The on screen keyboard is actually very easy to use which was nice because... More
