All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G makes for a fairly good Android phone. Is it worth your $150? I would give it a conditional yes. Of all the major carriers, T-Mobile probably has the scarcest options in terms of good Android devices. Compared to the rest of the carrier's offerings, the Blaze makes a decent mid-point between the newer Samsung Galaxy S II on the higher end, and the truly cheap options like the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G and the Samsung Exhibit II. That said, the Blaze isn't going to match up with the amount of bang for your buck that you'd get on other carriers. The same price on AT&T or Verizon would net you a better phone -- but also a higher monthly bill than you'll get with T-Mobile. Either way, you get what you pay for.

We're certainly excited to see dual-core processors trickle down into T-Mobile's mid-tier, and thanks to some well-tuned software, the Blaze 4G is an excellent performer. It's an admirable handset that offers top-notch battery life and network performance, pristine call quality and a beautiful, sturdy enclosure. That said, it's a good handset that stops just short of greatness. To justify its high price, Samsung could've included a better display and its superior 8-megapixel camera. Instead, it stopped short of the mark its competitors will be hitting in just a few months -- at which time, this little guy will have a difficult time making its case for your attention. Considering all of these factors, we'd take a serious moment of pause before plunking down $150 for the Blaze 4G. Once it falls to a lower price, however, it promises to be an excellent choice for those unwilling to splurge on top-shelf features.

Looking at the phone's spec sheet and Galaxy-esque design, you may mistake the Blaze 4G for the successor to the Galaxy S II. It’s not. The Blaze 4G is more of an extension of the series with a cheaper price tag. Qualcomm’s CPU is a multitasking beast and the Super AMOLED is just as commendable as any other mobile screen on the market. Still, the Blaze 4G doesn’t bring anything new to the Android forefront. ICS integration might have placed it atop of T-Mobile’s premium handsets, but its lack of memory and hackneyed design gives the device a mid-level presence.Some might want to wait for the HTC One S which is due out in a few weeks. But for those seeking a powerful low-cost handset, the Blaze 4G should suffice.

he Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G packs enough functionality to keep every potential Android user, who thinks that a screen over 4" in size is too big happy. It is well built, fast, and pocket friendly. It's also got some powerful hardware that makes it relatively future proof.

The smartphone however, is far from perfect. Its Super AMOLED screen has remained in 2010. Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4 on the other hand, while perfectly polished, is quite far from being at the cutting edge of the Android realm. The lack of an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update timeline does not help the handset's cause either.

The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G costs $149.99 with a two-year commitment to the Big Magenta. Its price tag puts it in the thick of the Android smartphone competition. You can actually pick up even more capable hardware for less money.

As you can see, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G has some heavy competition to face. The newcomer however packs one major feature, which will help it find quite a few fans. The device, thanks to its 4" screen, is more compact than every option we told you about save for the Pantech offering. In a world of ever expanding screen sizes, this matters a lot.

If you're looking for a compact, Android phone in the Galaxy S family, the Blaze is a good option for those who aren't looking to shell out more than $200 bucks for a new phone.

At $150 with contract, the Galaxy S Blaze is a mid-range phone with strong capabilities given its spec and size. While some of its competition includes the HTC Sensation 4G with an 8 MP camera, the Galaxy S Blaze blows the Sensation's battery life out of the water.

The lack of Ice Cream Sandwich, the newest version of Android, is a bummer, but hopefully with many smartphones receiving updates soon, the Galaxy S Blaze might just be on that list. No promises, obviously.

The $149 Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is a mid-range Android phone that delivers strong performance, long battery life and fast 4G speeds. Some may find the avalanche of T-Mobile branded apps annoying, however. The identically priced HTC Sensation 4G has a sharper qHD display and higher-resolution 8-MP camera, but we suspect that many would rather carry the smaller and lighter Blaze 4G. Overall, the Blaze 4G is a very good choice for shoppers looking for a pocket-friendly Android phone with fast speeds and long endurance.

Good things are still found in small packages. In fact, that’s essentially what we find with T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, as it’s able to impress us in so many ways. To tell you the truth, we weren’t expecting a lot out of this one, especially when the Samsung Galaxy S II is out there floating around, but it’s evident that the Blaze 4G is a wonderful alternative for those who prefer a device that’s more compact – without sacrificing the goods in the specs department. Taking into account its $149.99 2-year contract price, it’s price reasonably enough to justify it standing close to its highly touted sibling in the Galaxy S II.

I like the Galaxy S Blaze 4G a lot. I like that it has the potential to offer data speeds that compete with 4G LTE networks, thanks to its HSPA+ 42Mbps support, but I’m disappointed that T-Mobile’s network isn’t as widespread and doesn’t even cover the whole of Manhattan. The network aside, there’s nothing inherently wrong with the Galaxy S Blaze 4G: it’s a beautiful phone that should cater well to the corporate bunch and consumers alike: it runs quickly, has a decent camera and calls were solid. But if you want to hold off entirely, I’d wait and see how the HTC One S fares when it launches later this year.
