If you are someone who is looking for a reliable phone that has a wide array of features, you may want to consider the Samsung Galaxy Q. While basic, it is a handy phone for a professional who is constantly on the go and needs internet access, email, and document editing. Also handy when away from the office is the phone's capability to create, edit and easily share a variety of MS Word and PDF documents. When you're not working, the Q offers standard social networking integration including of course, Facebook.

Although it won't win any beauty pageants, this phone is quite lightweight, has a nice black finish, and should fit handily into a purse or pocket. Photo and video capabilities are not overly impressive but there a simple editing program included to clean up images and videos before sharing them online.

Most notable is the phone's keypad, or rather keypad(s). There is both a bright touchscreen and a more comfortable slide-out keyboard which many prefer for emailing and document editing.

The Samsung Galaxy Q is definitely an affordable yet reliable option for someone who is looking for an all-in-one, business orientated device.

When is a phone not a phone?

When is is the worst TELEphone I've ever used. It texts (slide-out QUERTY) and does e-mail reasonably enough, but the dropped calls, horrible reception and now-you-see-it-now-you-don't SD memory is atrocious.

This phone is a tank. Dropped it in toilet bowl and let it die outside where it stayed for a full week. Despite constant raining and snowing, it worked right after the battery was charged. Just needed some rice. Not the most luxurious phone but definately works fine for clumpsy people like me!

More than Garabage

Name anything that can go wrong with a phone, and you will end up with this phone. Anything from powering off in the middle of a conversation to not being able to download the smallest picture. Can't wait to get rid of it before I throw it in the garabage.

My Galaxy Q is a piece of garbage. Most apps takes ages for me to load or straight up freeze and shut down my phone. Also, it'll arbitrary decide to wipe itself clean from any MP3 files I add to it, so I can't use anything but the generic sounds for ringtones, alarms and various sound effects (that also means no music). Any flashlight apps run the risk of just leaving the light on permanently, in which case I have to reboot my phone. The interface is pretty janky too. does things you don't want it too. No way to organize your files either so it seems. Also, for some silly reason, the home button won't get you to your home if you're in a file. Then you have to use the Back button. Internet windows stay open in your phone while they are closed. That would be okay if the number of windows at a same time wasn't so limited. The only thing praiseworthy in my opinion is the power control widget you can add, and even then, it doesn't always respond.

I've had this phone about a year now. At first I thought it was pretty good, nothing exciting but my first "smart" phone so I was getting used to that and all the new things I could do on a phone like this. And I must say one of the only good things about this phone is the flip-out QWERTY keyboard which I enjoy a lot more than on-screen keyboards. Apparently, this phone is garbage though. Zero space, screen freezes, always glitching. Worst part is, lately I can't even use the phone for it's PRIMARY function. When I get phone calls, often the "phone application" force closes while it's ringing so I can't answer the freakin' call. And then, because it's so buggy and glitchy, it doesn't show who called, sometimes it will say that I have a missed call but it's a missed call from 2 days ago. And then when you CAN answer calls, the mic on this thing is pure garbage. Everyone is always telling me they can't hear me, that it's very unclear and sometimes they hear odd noises. One of them being that m voice regularly sounds robotic during moments of a phone call. Phone calls take double the time now because people are always asking me to repeat and asking me what's wrong with my phone. Restarting itself more and more too. Always telling me that there's no more storage. The other day the "messaging app" also failed on me a couple times. Can't even use this phone to do the basics. Thankfully I'm moving away in a week, and changing providers and phone. Thank goodness!!

I have 5 people in my home using the same carrier so i know the problem is the phone. It does whatever it wants whenever it wants. Forget about having a full conversation, the phone mutes, changes to speaker, opens random apps,or just plain hangs up on you whenever it feels like it. Extremely limited memory limits usable apps, with many unnecessary apps that cannot be deleted or moved to SD. I've had the phone 8 months now and I can not stress enough how terrible it has been. A friend bought the same phone despite my warnings and 3 months later threw it in the garbage due to these issues. If you use your phone to actually talk- this is not a good choice!!!!!

I’ve had this phone for a few months and though I’m not an intensive user I have to say overall I’m pretty pleased with it – except for one problem, and it’s a deal breaker: it only has 150MB (131MB according to the specs) of internal memory, which is COMPLETELY inadequate. This was my first Android phone and initially I wasn’t concerned about the internal storage, I figured I’d just put everything on the SD card. Turns out, that’s not how Android rolls. Some apps can only be run from internal storage, and even the ones you can transfer to the SD card often leave large chunks (in some cases over half the total memory required by the app) in internal storage. As a result you will run out of internal memory after installing a relatively modest number of apps, and once internal storage is full you will not be able to download any more apps or update the ones you already have. This is really a massive design flaw, no doubt done for reasons of economy. Calling this a “smartphone” is borderline false advertising. If you’re adventurous you can try rooting your phone (this will void the warranty and worst case could FUBAR it), which will allow you to use an app to force Android to move entire apps to the SD card. This isn’t for the feint of heart but it’s the only way I can see to make the phone semi functional for its intended purpose. A better bet is just get a phone that isn’t brain dead out of the box, however.

I had this phone for 1.5 years. I can say there are a lot of issues a user will have when using this phone. One issue is the specifications. It has a ridiculously low internal memory and amount of RAM. Another issue are the sudden crashes this phone goes through. At times, it will crash and restart your phone. You may not experiene this issue in the beginning, but eventually, you probably will. Those are the bigger issues with this phone. Another issue is the screen. Sometimes the touch screen fails to respond and you usually have to lock/unlock your phone to regain control. It may not be a big issue but, it is still something. The price of the phone is alright, but you can find different and better deals out there for a different phone.

After a few months, all the stupid Samsung apps that you can't delete update and take up all the space. Sd card didn't help. All the core junk had to stay on the internal memory. Now i get constant low storage warnings and can't have more than 1 app on my phone that needs internal storage at a time. Another common error/glitch I get is screen stays black when on the phone and I have to open the quirdy keyboard and pinch several buttons so the options such as keypad and call waiting. Very annoying. If I can't fix it goes in the trash. Do not buy.

Had this phone for a few months now and at random times it just quits working. It shows full bars service and I can't call or text or receive calls or texts. Fido sent it out for repairs once after months of me pestering them that it didn't work, but they can only send it away for repairs if they can duplicate the problem at the store. This is a huge problem for me since I live 2 hours away from the nearest store. Calling Fido does not help since they refuse to help.
