Nothing works.......buyer BEWARE?

This new lG 505C Lemon does not work.

No bars in my home, I have to walk up a hill to test it out and get only one bar, that also includes large towns near me like Doylestown and New Hope.

Cannot receive or answer a call.

Missed calls, that I cannot answer does not show up on screen

Cannot access my micro sd photos or music, have tried both my micro sd loaded with graphics.

The battery does not hold a charge with the few phone calls I made outdoors or tried to use for photos. It has been charged daily just to make test calls to my husbands trac cell phone.

Tracfone is non reponsive, sent me this peice of crap at $90 pluss shipp.
Phone no bars, no reception, cant answer. Worst cell phone ecperience of my life.
I wrote, emailed and faxed Tracfone, the got referred to Brightpoint reverse logistics. Also I tweeted them multiple times. No reviews becasue you cant even get a call or activate it from your home, since the battery is crap and no bars for reception. Mytriple minutes are almost used up with just test calls.

Most of the calls I made out were test calls to my husband from both a home land line and his cell. The list goes on and my patience wore out, My husband Carlos, who also speakes Spanish, spent many hours and days trying to correct the situation over the last 2 weeks. He input multiple codes that did not take, given by outsourced customer from all over the World.

I'm relentless and need a phone for emergencies and other necessary communication. Since I don't chat my usage is minimal.
Will put this on Utube as I am now recording all the grief tracfone has put me thru, and no solutions or refunds. The sent me the phone but now they want me to go to the expense and more torture, of sending it to another company without any compensation. Dont buy this phone, LG should be informed there is no quality control.

  • In all fairness, if a phone is being used in a dead zone, that isn't a strike against the device. That's something you should be complaining about to your provider. As far as the SD issue, have you enabled mass storage?

For the record, Tracfone is not a great network to begin with. If you want good service, you should try going to one of the major providers who have already spent the time and money to build their network. Sounds like the majority of your problems are with Tracfone, not the Q.

  • Tracfones work great where I live, I've had them for years and now my husband does. The phone is a LEMOM, so is the bettery that came with it and probably the Sims to. Its all recorded now on video and photos.
If and when tracfone delivers better customer service, it is the best deal out there, for someone like me who does not chat, or enjoy shooting the breeze or flapping my jaws.

the phohe is the lG500C, and is defenctive and was sent out defective.

  • Then you received a defective unit. This happens with every device, regardless of model. In smartphones the battery can drain faster due to excessive applications being left running in the background.

  • The Tracfone / Straight Talk service does not have their own networks and do not build them. They buy bundles of minutes from the big providers: ATT, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon (yes all of them) and then resell at a discount using re-badged "last years" model phones or discount phones and lower prices. If you do not need the latest-greatest phone ... the no contract phones are an excellent deal.

BUT ... you MUST select a phone that has service in the area you will be using it. Even for your Zip code, the different phones in the Tracfone line up use different networks. The GSM phones work off the ATT or T-Mobile network and the CDMA phones work off of Sprint or Verizon. The network you get depends on the phone you chose. You can discover the network by researching the phone before you buy it. You discover what network works best in your user area by using a friends phone or by local knowledge. Putting your Zip Code in on the tracfone site does NOT bring up all tracfones. If you know Verizon works best in your home, but it is not the dominate carrier in your area, your zip code will NOT give you the list of phones that will work for you. You can put in a different Zip (where Version is dominate) and see different phones on their sites. When you activate, give them your local Zip and you get a local number.

  • The problem was solved, the Tacfone I had purchased from their webstore for my area code was wrong, they sent me an LG505C. I'm in an ATT area, not Verizon, so they should have sent me the 505G which is correct for ATT.

Mike I do my homework and made a foolish mistake by buying online instead of just going to a Kmart or Walmart in my area that has the Gphones.

My new Tracfone LG800G purchased from a nearby WalMart is great, and it was setup direct by Tracfone Headquarters after my fax to the CEO.
As of this moment the tracfone is on its way back to Indianna where it came from.

  • Barb_26302 I went through the same thing. I needed the C instead of the G. What I need to know is how do you set up to use the MP3?

  • I would like to know how to set up to use the MP3 for it?

  • How do I get on Facebook on my LG 505C. It tells me 909 Application Failure.
