Touch Response Unresponsive at Times

Bought my Xenon in early January 2010 and have found when phone is in sleep mode and an active response is required from a text message, voice mail, etc. When the unit is vertical and you have to touch the screen to access the activity the execution requires multiple touches of the screen to illicit the activity in question.
