Keybo II: Problems from Day I
5/10
I bought my Keybo II from Telus last Friday. It is now Thursday and I have used it only for one day!
The night I brought it home I played with it (added my contacts, checked my Facebook) for about an hour before the battery died. Standard for a new battery, I guess. I plugged it in and let the phone charge for about 14 hours.
When I picked it up the next day it said CHARGE COMPLETE so I turned the phone on and played with the internet again for about half an hour. Then I put the phone down and two to three hours later I went to put it in my bag and I noticed it was off. I turned it back on and it shut itself off again after a couple of minutes.
I immediately went back to the Telus dealership to let them know and they said it probably had a faulty battery, and to come back on Wednesday to pick up a new one. So for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I did not have a phone (I don't have a landline or home internet so this is problematic). Each day I would turn the phone on to see if I could get it to work and it would shut itself down.
On Tuesday I turned the phone on and it stayed on! And it worked all day! I made a couple of calls, checked my voice mail, sent and received a few texts, and surfed the net. Phone worked great! The battery died by the end of the day and I let it charge overnight.
On Wednesday I unplugged the phone and turned it on and went to the www to check my Facebook. Within a couple of seconds of launching the app the interior screen went blank and the phone shut itself off. It did this repeatedly, so I went back to the dealer. She replaced the battery and the same thing happened. She reset the device and it still shut itself down while launching the web.
It is now almost a week since I spent $150 on this phone (got a phone credit for signing up for three more years) and I have used it only one day. The dealership would not give me a replacement and reinstated my old HTC instead (however my old data plan is now gone). I spent $344 on phone and accessories and have nothing to show for it.
