Palm Pixi / Reviews

Since day one of the iPhone , I said if I could get this device in a qwerty bar, it would be the best device to date. Well this is as close as it gets. Of course nothing is ever perfect, thats what keeps us coming back. I look forward to the "Pro" model of the pixi, however this is as close as it gets to date.

Full disclosure:I have had an iPhone since day one as my personal. I have had a Blackberry at work for the same amount of time. Before those devices it was palm treo 650,750 palm pre, samsung, HP, HTC devices etc, etc. I have had nearly every smartphone that has been produced after 2003.

Proven form factor, capacitive touch screen, and the multitasking of WebOS, are some of the things that make this device great. Sprints features that are bundled into the data package like Navigation, NFL, nascar TV etc. These are ala carte with other subscribers.

Couple that with the cheapest data + voice plan and it wont be long before Sprint picks up more and more subscribers.

I dock a star for this item shipping and being unstable with while in EVDO. This issue is not isolated. Most reviews kill this phone for sluggishness, while not mentioning downgrading to 1xRtt. However they should slam it for that reason. A new device out of the box shouldn't have to be modified to just be able to work properly. Luckily for those of us who don't mind growing pains and understand that an update will fix it, its easier to look at all the positives again.

Also the camera is a pretty big negative to me as well. I have also read that it may fixed with an upgrade as well.
