Good phone but not Super
6/10
Pro: Simple to use, lots of Apps
Con: Touch Screen, no real keys, can't connect to other phones, battery life
The iPhone 3G is a great phone, but having had other smart/pda phones there are functions I took for granted that iPhone does not have. 1st off you can't customize it, we all have the same icons and tones for email, sms etc. I can change the wallpaper? Big deal. Have you been with a group of people that all have the iPhone? You can't tell who's phone is doing what and 1/2 dozen people pulling out their phones just to see whois txt/call/email is beeping is just plain annoying, and no, customizable ringtones is not enough. Took a picture I wanted to send to someone, but wait I can't send it to their phone via sms or bluetooth! I have to email it to them, sending pics, files and contacts to other phones via sms, bluetooth or IR was standard on other smart/pda phones and I hate Apple for leaving it out. Lastly, I don't txt that much, but the virtual keyboard is annoying, after being able to txt with my eyes closed, I now have to pay attention to every letter I type, people make fun of me for not using shortcuts, so yah being able to txt full words with my eyes closed was nice, but not anymore. I do love the mapping software though and there are many fun, useful apps. Almost forgot, Apple has to get a new battery, that battery in there is not enough to last me a single day, I don't surf the internet, make marathon calls or use it for much mail or txt, so please Apple a better battery. So if you need a phone that will hold your hand for you, keep you away from the dangers of bluetooth connecting with strange phones, then the iPhone is for you.
