Android and navigation all in one
8/10
The Garmin-ASUS Garminfone is the second device from the Garmin-ASUS partnership that has launched in the United States. It follows the nuvifone that launched on AT&T last year, and is a vast improvement in many ways. The Garminfone is powered by Android 1.6 and runs a custom Garmin user interface. T-Mobile told me that the Garminfone includes all of the features of a high-end Garmin personal navigation device (PND), except it also has all the features you'd expect from a full-blown smartphone, too. During my tests, I found that statement to be pretty much dead-on. The device served up an excellent experience as a navigation device, and also as a smartphone.
