Purchased the Samsung impact on the release date and I am very pleased with this device. It was a toss up between the Impact and another model of similar functionality and the Impact won due to it being a more comfortable fit in my hand while using it.
I would recommend this phone to anyone not ready for a smart-phone(and the data plan that's required for a smart phone).
I kept my old imove80 plan and added the unlimited mobile browser.
Browsing the web is very good on this phone and the full HTML browser works respectably, I have large hands and have little problem with the on screen keyboard. I use the phone as a replacement for my PDA that I used to read html books online(baen free library and baencd at the Fifth Imperium). I find I am using my laptop less and utilizing the web from my Impact more.
The camera is a nice feature that works well, and the music player is a nice touch. I'm not going to be using the wired headphones much longer though and will be ordering a bluetooth stereo headset for it which will be better I believe.
I particularly like the tools included as i do find myself using them as needed, particularly the voice recognition, calculator, and converter.
In summary, a very nice feature rich phone with a responsive touchscreen that can access the web but doesn't require a plan change if your happy with what you already have, just add unlimited mobile browser and have fun.
One feature that anyone looking at one of these phones should consider is the insurance (Smart/Phone Care) just in case something were to accidentally happen to the phone. After using the Impact for a while going back to my old Sanyo Katana because it(impact) had broke would not leave me a happy phone user.
I highly recommend this phone to others.
