The Nokia 6300 offers many features for a slim handset, and should be on the shortlist of potential phones for buyers looking for this type of device. Even with the crackling loudspeaker, the phone has quite a lot to offer. However, the lack of an auto-focus camera might put off some buyers if imaging is one of their main concerns. If you can overlook these issues, the Nokia 6300 might just be perfect for you.

Nokia 6300 is a good phone. Along with slim design of steel plates it also offers an especially rich functional menu, similar to the functional equipment of all other phones based on the Series 40 3rd Edition platform. It brings along broad personalization options and a great amount of working and multimedia functions. However, it is not only the design of Nokia 6300 that is worth compliments. Its 16 million color display as well as its miniUSB connector are brilliant too. Users may not like the fingerprints or the low video record resolution.

I have been using this phone for a year and a half . The functionalities are good . The body is tough and very strong . The only con i see is the camera and unsupportive .sis files .

If i was a product manager, I would add a 3.2 Mp camera with auto focus and flash plus a symbian OS . This would make it a perfect phone .

i have nokia 6300 but it stores just 40 messages and i wana to increase its messages memory or if there is any way to convert message memory to Memory card i will be glad if some 1 have solution for this prob. i mean text messages

The worst thing about this phone is its weak signal. I have 2 sets & they have the same problem. Since signal is the most important piece, I can say that this phone is a useless phone.

Overall, this phone was just what I wanted and needed. the price will range dramatically depending on where you purchase it from and what color you want. I made certain to buy the US version (I bought it directly from Nokia at their flagship store, in NYC). Memory: It comes with 32 MB built in, you should buy a 2 GB Micro SD card. You can swap out cards without shutting the phone or interfering with its operation (great for choosing from multiple choices of media). Reception: Calls are being dropped, but I had the same problem on my old phone (Sony Ericsson's T226), so it could simply be my service (AT&T/Cingular). Also, call quality is not the greatest sometimes I hear perfectly, whereas the person on the other end complains that I can't be heard and am breaking up. Video/Camera: The phone comes with many choices of quality and pixel size for the shots that you can take. Response time on the highest quality for photos seems to have a slight lag, but I have had no prior experience with camera phones, so I am not sure how fast and well they should work. Customization/software, etc.: You can access the internal memory of the phone using a standard USB cable, attached to a PC. Since Nokia offers lots of software choices and platforms for free, you can change internal ringtones, etc. at your whim. However, it would be advisable to stick with whichever version of phone software that it came with because many problems will arise along with any improvements to call quality, etc. Battery life: Overall, if just using the phone as a media player or for calls, the battery will last at least 3.5-4.5 Hours. However, if you use both, your battery will most likely only last closer to 3 hours. If you turn bluetooth on while using the media player (play or send via bluetooth), it may die much sooner. You can charge it via a Chines travel battery pack, the AC outlet plug that comes with it, or any 2.5 MM car charger (I got one for $5 from a street vendor). Headsets: Practically any 2.5 MM jack headset will work (all $1-10 Chinese ones that I tried worked). However, to access the radio you need a special one from Nokia. For Bluetooth none of the Motorolas that I tried worked (from the H series- 300, 360, 700). You will need to look around carefully and try someone else to be sure that it is compatible before purchasing.

I don't want to seem picky, but a 3.6 MP camera would make this phone perfect. Overall it is good looking, strong,easy to use, and the FM radio is the cats ass!
The battery performs much better when you turn off functions like keypad tones, vibrate, and bluetooth etc. when these are not needed.
I"ve had mine for about 10 mos. and like I said, it's the best phone I've had so far.(I usually get a new phone every 7-8 mos).
I give it two thumbs up!

The camera of this phone is very addicting! The only problem is that it has no flash :c i love taking pictures of my self but i cant use my phone in dark places.

When i'm attending night parties and when i'm at disco bars, icant use it as a camera. Too bad coz i dont wannna bring my digital cam when i'm at party venues.

a good phone overall but i have the same problem with its poor battery life qouestion is are there any compatible battery that can at least solved its poor battery problem, however its a very very good phone.....did they also released a 1.3 megapixel version of the nokia6300

This phone is thin and light. The screen is large and it is fully packed with features. The speaker is nice and loud. The camera works great. I highly recommend this phone.

Pro: nice look, stainless steel case, clear screen,can set up the keys to meet your needs, takes nice pictures. Nokia is a good name phone, you can use a blue tooth, phone is 2 megapixel for a clearer picture,

Con: keys stick, low battery life, sound is low, ringer fades, needs a memory card to record more then a couple of pictures, volume low even when raised, the phone does not always pick up very well when inside of a building, directions for sending messages & photos is hard to follow, keys must be struck exactly in the middle so that the correct numbers & letters appear on the screen when typing, keys are very small & close together, it makes it hard to type with your fingernails.

If I had a chance to choose a phone again, it would not be the nokia 6300, In the past 10 years, I have always decided on Nokia telephones because they were very dependable, would pick up calls in areas where other manufacturers phones would not, the sound was good and the design held up well, but I have been very disappointed with the Nokia 6300 model.
