Still In LOVE With This Little Phone

Pro: LONG talk time....as long as 5 hours Sturdy...dropped it a bunch of times Con: Not supported by Metro PCS Using experience: 3 years I picked up this little phone back in 2006 on eBay, and only stopped using it when I was trying to save money so switched to Metro PCS. I've had 2 phones with this current provider and hated them both. I had to buy a backup battery because I got sick and tired of running out of juice and having no time or place to plug in and wait. My old Nokia carried me through one convo with a friend one day for nearly 5 hours! I still have the phone and I'm going back to AT&T now that they have an unlimited no-contract plan that I can afford. Yeah it doesn't have a camera...so what? I HAVE a Kodak and don't need that junk on my cell phone crowding up my memory and eating all my battery juice. Nor do I want to chat or email anyone. I'll wait til I get home thanks. It's enough that I have a phone attached to my ear half the time these days. At the end of the day...I am still in love with this little phone! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Hope that I can find a phone that satisfys me as much as this one.

I have had my Nokia 6061 phone for about 6 months now and I have enjoyed using it. It is exactly what I wanted: a basic no frills phone that can send and receive phone calls and text messages. Pros: Decent battery life, Easy to use buttons, Durable. It has survived being dropped and flung across a room with only minor cosmetic damage. Cons: No volume control, standard volume is a too quiet and does not compete well with even minimal background noise. Loudspeaker function is also a little quiet and could be better. Calendar menu system not the easiest to use. Overall it is a decent phone and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a basic phone.

It's been sent in for repair and worked for 2 weeks before it quit again. I have to take out the battery numerous times, put it in and then it'll work for maybe 2 or 3 weeks at a stretch. Right now I've been without a phone for 2 weeks because it doesn't work AGAIN!

I'm on the fourth phone under warranty in six months, the first two I had failed within weeks of my acquiring them, so did the last one that I have now. Three of them had suffered from short battery life... as in they only hold a charge on standby for more than 9 hours, if someone phones me or I phone out it dies within minutes of the call. The third 6061 lasted the longest, however the display failed after 4 months. I am very disappointed in this phone, prior to this model I had two other Nokias that lasted me 5 years each (they were basic reliable phones) I like the 6061 when it works, none of the extra crud I don't need, it's just a simple phone for doing what a phone needs to do.

Pro: durable. dropped it a gazillion times and it keeps on tick.... working. gave it a shower and overheated it on an oven range (no hair dryer available) drying it out and thought i'd melted the screen and it recovered nicely and you wouldn't know it. i use it moderately for phone calls only and after getting used to its characteristics (see cons) it's a solid phone. Con: the red light incoming call indicator is pointless to me as i'd rather have a window indicating who's calling like my motorola phone had. can't assign individual ring tones to single callers. you can assign them to groups but not as useful or creative for me. Using experience: 1 years not a bad phone but not great - solid. you won't impress your friends or enemies if you tie your ego with your cell phone.

Pro: the speaker is nice when it actually works. Con: Everytime we try to select a ring tone it says it is not available, I then have to turn the phone off and then back on for it to display the ring tones again. Also sometimes even when it is set for ring and not vibrate sometimes it will just beep and the red light will blink. This phone is constantly doing this even when the ring tone is on. Had to take it back and get it fixed numerous of times. Using experience: 1 years If you want a phone that is compatible to a children's play phone, pick this one because it barely works most of the time and I am going tomorrow to trade it in for a different phone.
