There's a lot to like about Motorola's Slvr L7, the company's latest cell-phone/iPod hybrid. It's pretty, sleek, and fairly easy to use for making and receiving calls; and its integration of iPod features is a great extra. Unfortunately, it doesn't excel as a music listening device.

Motorola L7 is not a phone for everybody. I guess that those of you who pick up a phone by its design will probable be the only ones to appreciate the values of this phone right. Motorola L7 will repay you with an attractive slim design, a brilliant display and a wide range of functions. However at the same time you will have to put up with its delayed response and low-quality camera, as well as with a confusing menu and an unpractical keypad. In this aspect, Motorola L7 is not suitable for users, who need a phone that will be fully reliable in a hectic working environment and particularly not for those of you, who write SMS frequently.

In terms of thinness Motorola L7 has no other competitors but its brothers Motorola V3 Razr and Motorola L6. If you find it hard to decide which one of these three models meets your needs the best, base your final decision on your subjective preferences and the amount of money you are willing to pay. You can also get the new Benq-Siemens S68, which is also slim and user-friendly, but features poorer equipment. Motorola L7 is already available on the market at a price quite reasonable in reference to the phone's rich equipment.

Pro: The phone is very stylish, small, and loud ring tones

Con: The middle buttons fall off which makes the phone look very cheap, also the battery and charger are not very good quality

Using experience: 6 months

Over all this is a great phone scratch that perfect phone for about the first 4 mths then things start to go wrong, charger goes bad, then battery, and of course by this time the middle buttons have fallen off. I would not recomend you spend your money on this phone unless you have money to waste!!!!

Pro: Slim, barely noticeable while in my pocket. Great sound, loud ringtones, easy to use. MP3 player (US Cellular doesn't use iTunes) is easy to use. The screen is a lot bigger than most Motorola Phones.

Con: The two middle buttons fell off and I had to glue them back on (no biggy). The memory slot is behind the battery.

Using experience: 22 months

I'm really happy with my phone. My contract with my cell phone company is almost up and I really don't want to get a new phone. Recommended highly.

Pro: SD card slot, fast and easy menus, VGA camera/30 sec video, mp3 player, and excellent 2.0 bluetooth.

Con: SD card slot is behind the battery,which is weird, and the microphone is on the side of the phone instead of the usual bottom location, which is also weird and annoying when people can't hear you clearly. Also, the main keys are a little to small, which will be harder for grown men wirh huge thumbs when they try to text with itap. The camera could have had a better resolution as well.

Using experience: 50 days

This phone is VERY stylish with cutting-edge features, but falls a tad short due to convenience. This phone might not be best for people who text on the daily, but what more could you want from a phone that also has web/e-mail/instant messaging capability? Basically, it's an improved razr, candy bar style.

I bought this phone after I tried the L6, the version without the itunes, the L6 was an unlocked phone so it doesn't support AIM. This phone gets great reception and I never had a problem using it as a phone. However, although it claims to have Itunes (one of the reason I bought it), the itune function is limited and loading music on to the phone from your computer take just short of forever. Plus the month before I bought this phone (August 06)Apple decided to no longer support the L7, which means no further updates to the phone. Don't get me wrong, this phone has great features, but be careful about how many features you are using because this phone has a slight lag- especially when you are texting. Overall a great starter phone, but I can't wait till I can upgrade to a next generation phone.

I was strongly cautioned not the buy either a RAZR or SLVR, so I did research to find a phone that would best suit my needs AND be something cute and attractive (if I am keeping it for two years, this is a must!). I fell in love with the look of the SLVR but I still felt like I needed to look into it and compare with other phones. I read all of the reviews, good, bad and ugly and decided, for my needs, this was the phone for me.

So far, this has been a great choice! The phone itself is very attractive and I was able to find a case specifically made for the L7's that enhanced this even more, instead of hiding it behind some bulky material. I have no problems with the reception and can always hear clearly and be heard clearly.

The biggest disappointment I had was that I couldn't figure out how to assign individual ringtones and assumed this this was not an option of the phone rather than being the outcome of the ill-informed user that I was. Reading other reviews showed that this was a disappointment for other users as well. WE WERE WRONG! My best advice: READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL! But to sum it up, to get an individual ringtone, a number has to be saved to the phone rather than the SIM card. So this is no longer a disappointment for me.

For those of you who get this phone through Cingular/AT&T, the phone comes with a memory card (nice bonus!) and I was able to find another micro memory card with more storage and 2 micro card adaptors (to fit the micro in other memory card slots) for just over $13 on Amazon. I do not use the iTUNES feature (as of yet) but have put music on my card and played it through the "my sounds" function, which has worked great for me.

I have seen complaints about the keypad and have found them, for myself, to be unfounded. I have no problems with them. However, I do not text a lot, but when I have, the functions have been easy to use and unconfusing.

The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because of the quality of the camera. Pictures are a little blurry and dark. Since this is not my primary sourse of photos, this is not a huge disappointment for me.

For my use, this phone is fantastic, but bear in mind that I am pretty easy on my cell phones, with a little less than an average amount of use. It's got all the fun features and bells and whistles I wanted to have a little fun with my phone, but works great in it's most basic form as well!

I recently ordered this phone through amazon and i must say i love it!! It is everything thing i wanted in a phone and more. To me its the best of both worlds, the pretty pink exterior is just my style, the itunes is so easy to use, and it is very practical to use as an everyday phone. I just love it!!

Con: makes the ipod look like crap, which it is, OVERPRICED JUNK, SLOW
My brother has the new ipod, what garbage, it is SLOW, not accurate, hard to use with its junky touchscreen, and is TOO FRAGILE. I would rather not use anything than WASTE GOOD MONEY on this garbage.

I love the SLVR phone. I have not had any major problems with it at all.

The only complaint is that I cannot assign specific speed dial numbers to certain numbers.

The itunes function will only allow 100 songs on your phone, no matter how big your card is. However, I love the itunes function on the phone because I can just play it whenever I like (it is great to use when waiting for the bus).

You need to use a San Disk micro sd card with the phone though, I tried to use a kingston micro sd card and the phone would not recognize it.

The buttons, menus, and programs are easy to use with the phone. I would recommend that if the phone is in your purse or pocket, you lock the keyboard often because the number pad is very sensitive to touch.

The phone is durable, I have dropped it several times and it still kept on working.

If you are looking for a slim phone to play music text, and surf the internet once in a while, it is a great choice among phones.

Motorola NEVER ceases to amaze or let me down. They always have to best quality products.

I love my SLVR. I'm always checkin it out,playing music on it and all my co workers want one BADLY since they are so impressed by it. Its quite a powerhouse.

PROS:

Excellent picture quality
Built in MP3 player
Built in Camera

CONS:
When I have the phone in my pocket,i've called people on my contact list by accident. The buttons tend to be a bit sensitive.

Voice recognition needs to be SERIOUSLY tweaked. It doesn't do what is asked all of the time. I've said "Go to datebook" and its checked my phone's signal,battery and coverage status.

Not all of the songs that I have on my phone don't show up on it and they are playable...just not on the SLVR.

So in closing,i'd definitely suggest to people to get a Motorola SLVR. I'm a proud owner of one and wouldn't change it for the world.

Did I mention that I LOVE MY SLVR?!?
