this is a great phone. The signal is great, i actually got signal in the underground subway a few times (canada). The reception is really good, and it is very durable. I dropped it numerous times on concrete, have thrown it against the wall...dropped in water...hmm what else lol. great phone, great reception, BUT there is a downside.
the camera sucks when making a video....really sucks
the battery life isnt good, but i put an extended battery on there which cost about 10 dollars on ebay.
umm, i cant get the bluetooth to work when transferring files between phones and or hooking up items to it, this is a pain but i barely use it...

great phone, i have a $250 credit at bell, but i dont want to get a new phone, i would much rather keep using this. 3 years and going strong.

last Motorola phone I'll have. I'm on my second, this one has no ring (broken) so I have an expensive answering machine. If you put it in your pocket, the buttons on the side will change the ring tone to silent or something else, or you take pictures of the inside of your pocket.

I thought I was buying a camera phone, but then after not being able to get my pictures off of it (I have the data cable and the software), I found that Verizon had deliberately disabled that feature to force you to e-mail them to yourself.

I find it to be a blatant rip off to sell someone a camera phone and software and then find out you can't get your pictures without paying for them.

My wife and I both own an E815. While the basic functions work just fine. The design of the charger-phone connection is faulty and inevitably make it impossible to charge the phone. Don't buy this phone unless you want to waste your money.

Biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. It freezes constantly, deleted all my pictures for no reason, will not accept a charge and powers down when you do plug the charger in.
I hate this phone and will not buy another motorola product because of the stupidest charger I've ever seen and the complete failure of this phone to work properly.
I've already had it in for warranty work once and will probably buy a different phone so I dont have to use this piece of crap ever again.

this phone is just simply AWFUL. i've had it for about a year and a half. however, it has been replaced 4 times. the current one i have has worked ok for about 7 months now. however, the screens, internal and external are now shot. neither will work. the external screen is a bluish color and the internal is a snow white color. i had owned a motorola previous to this one, which was nto much better. i will NEVER EVER have another motorola. if you want to buy this phone be prepared for it to screw up eventually.

I loved this phone until I plugged it in this week and it would no longer charge the battery. I'm fed up with Chinese-made expensive JUNK. This phone worked well, had great features and then literally overnight, I can't charge the battery. Anyone know where I can find a separate charger. I have cords all over my house for this phone and my headsets. Can anyone repair the charge port?

It is time for consumers to contact the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division in their state and demand an end to throwing away our technology into the landfills after less than two years. I'm easy on products. Give me an iPhone on Verizon, PLEASE.

I have had this phone for two years and have no significant problems. The mp3 works great with the microSD card and you can add your own ring tones with a sound editor and tranfer via the microSD card to the phone. I have dropped it at least 7-10 times (free 3-4') and with some minor scratches and a gouge, it still works fine. I would recommend a leather holster/cover instead of the plastic quick belt clip (why it drops so much). I also got a signal this summer in the heart of Algoquin park (Opeongo Lake, Annies Bay) and got a tow for our boat when we needed to leave.
Minus: Side buttons can be pushed easily without notice.

I am on my third phone (same model) in less then two years. About 6 months into the phone its starts dropping calls, then when you plug in the charger it says invalid battery. Now I leave it charge all day at work unplug go home and it is dead the next morning. I get my voice messages like two-three days later. The company I have my cell plan keep replacing the phone but it is a bad model. Absolutly hate this phone!!

Since all the great info is here & great reviews I'll just add:
I've had it now 22 months (time for upgrade) & it's still going strong. I don't want to mention how many times I've dropped the phone on hard wood or concrete & even had to reboot itself. I never had an issue. Motorola's are known to be buggy, so once a month to reset it, I took out the battery for 30 min.
This phone is known to be the best at reception for a dual-only all digital phone at the time I bought it in 2005.
I'm now looking to upgrade the extras like phone, bigger screen (though this one is still one of the biggest), etc. But if I can't get that & the reliability of reception & clear voice I have with this....
Side by side to an LG6100 or a Motorola KRazr this phone had more bars & with me on this phone & my gf on her own E815 on speakerphone, I could hear her 25 feet away almost clearly in quiet house from where her husband was talking to me.

I thought I was losing my mind until I read other reviews here!
I've had my phone a little over 2 years, so I guess I'm lucky it lasted this long.
I've always had the "accidently change ring tones" problem, had them with another motorola phone also. My husband gets sooooo mad when this happens he doesn't understand how/why it happens, thinks I'm doing something. I try to remember to "lock" the keypad, but it still sometimes changes styles when I plug it in to charge. I called Motorola about this, their answer, "you're supposed to turn the phone off when you charge it" Yeah right!

This week I started having the "unable to charge" error others have described. I figured I'd just dropped it once too often. I have a case and don't drop it often but...

I'm just trying to limp it along for one more day till I can go buy another phone locally (can't risk online order, might take too long and can't be without a phone). I've done my research and think I'm going with LG VX8300...no more Motorola for me!
