Just looking at the name probably brings a lot of similarities with the Motorola CLIQ, but the CLIQ XT substantially sets itself apart in many ways. Sure it's got no physical QWERTY keyboard that most people feel to be beneficial at times, but the CLIQ XT's superior messaging capabilities clearly make it jump straight to the top of the heap with its responsive feel and touch. There are also many goodies in the software to clearly differentiate it with the CLIQ – like the music player, multi-touch support, and Flash Lite to watch YouTube files. Clearly Motorola is positioning this device towards the mid-grade segment, but we feel that it has a place that most users can fit right in. Even though it might not excel in all aspects, the CLIQ XT showcases Motorola's stance in continuing their efforts in the market – they definitely have something in this device to make it stand out enough to be unique.

First and foremost, the phone's menu performance exceeded my expectations. It is the fastest, most responsive Blur phone I've used to date. That's a big help. Coming in a close second is the improved battery life. The Cliq XT lasts much longer than either the Cliq or Backflip did, and that makes it much easier to recommend. The improved music experience made me happy (well, happier), but I might have preferred improved camera functionality. Solid phone and internet performance don't hurt, either.

There are still a few drawbacks, though. The Cliq XT is saddled with the oldest version of Android being installed on new devices. Version 1.5 is better than 1.0 and 1.1 were, but Android 2.0 and 2.1 are already on devices in the market and offer a lot more functionality.

There is also the matter of the hardware. I am not a super big fan of the materials and smaller screen size, though for the price point, I am sure many users will set these complaints aside.

If you're on the T-Mobile network, I'd say the Cliq XT is a solid entry-level Android phone to snag.

Pro: Screen is bright, sharp, and big, CAMERA+Flash, How thin it is, touch D-pad, click buttons instead of capacitive, wi-fi, fun to use, 3.5mm Jack, SO MANY APPS, i could go on and on and on and OOONNN

Con: W/o wi-fi plus power manager battery = 1 and a half days. With wi-fi battery = A few hours. :P not great battery life. And moto blur EATS BATTERY SO FAST i just disabled it after a while But that is about it

Sorry this is my first review but HERE WE GO this is my first android phone and i will tell you now I LIKE IT ALOT BETTER THAN ANYTHING STEVE JOBS CAN FART UP :P lol. So if you ask me i made an awesome decision to go from the samsung highlight to the Cliq xt if you are debating an android phone go with this will satisfy any wants or needs
