The 1785 mAh battery is pretty good which last though out the day with an hour of browsing via 3G, few calls, messaging and 2 to 3 hours of music and images. At an affordable price point with Android 4.0 update expected really soon, this is a definitely a good phone.

The Motorola ATRIX 2 is a mild improvement over the ATRIX 4G that preceded it. An improved screen, potentially faster data speeds, and a better camera - overlooking the camera software issues, of course - add up to a better overall smartphone experience. Unfortunately, the only reason many consumers will look at the ATRIX 2 is likely because of its price, which, at $99.99 on-contract, is significantly less than the other dual-core smartphones that clutter the shelves of most mobile phone retailers. The ATRIX 2 is not as good as the Samsung Galaxy S II or the Apple iPhone 4S, both of which are $199, but for those on a tighter budget, it is a solid, if slightly boring, smartphone choice.

An attractive and comfortable phone with a great screen and solid camera

If you’re on AT&T and not an iPhone user, I’d say that this is a bargain for $99. It beats out the competition from HTC in a number of ways, and feels to me like a solid phone plain and simple. As long as you can get around that stupid flashlight effect.

At $99, the Atrix can be seen as the more affordable iteration of Verizon’s Motorola and is an excellent value proposition. With improved network performance, a redesigned form factor, gorgeous and vibrant display, the Atrix 2 brings dual-core 4G performance to a new affordable price point and will help AT&T reach out to customers who may want performance but don’t want to pay the price.
Additionally, as Motorola has corrected some of the early problems with the original Atrix 4G, the Atrix 2 lands out of the box with a much better user experience and is a more polished handset.

It doesn't reach the performance stratosphere the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Apple iPhone 4S occupy, and the Atrix 2's accessories and various software complexities position it decidedly out of the mainstream. But the Lapdock 100 and Webtop Application transform this phone like no other. Even if none of the accessories appeal to you, the Atrix 2 is still a dual-core Android phone with 4G data speeds, 1080p video recording, and a very sharp screen for just 99 bucks. It's tough to argue with that kind of value.

The ATRIX 2 is a no brainer for $99 with a new AT&T contract. That said, it isn’t nearly as revolutionary or as exciting as the ATRIX 4G, which launched as one of the first dual-core smartphones and introduced Motorola’s unique Webtop experience.

The camera on the ATRIX 2, though updated, still leaves a lot to be desired. But otherwise, the hardware is solid, the call quality was excellent and the data speeds were satisfactory. I find the Lapdock accessy unnecessary but would probably splurge for the media center dock. And even though I didn’t find much use for the Lapdock, it’s still a good sign to see that Motorola is improving the accessory to address the shortcomings of the original model.

No, the 4G speeds aren't blazing, but this smartphone offered faster downloads and uploads than its predecessor. If you're in the market for an Android smartphone in this price range, the $99 LG Thrill 4G for AT&T offers a unique 3D display, but it has a bulkier design. Bottom line: AT&T customers looking for a powerful Android phone at a great price should not hesitate to pick up the Atrix 2.

Although putting down the extra dough for the lapdock might not be a worthwhile investment, the Atrix 2 is definitely a solid device and a great starter phone for anyone new to Android on AT&T. Overall, the Atrix 2 is another great entry into Motorola’s Android lineup.
