There used to be a time when there was a shortage of Android ICS-powered LTE smartphones. No more. Now, there are several such devices available on the market, and one of them is the LG Optimus LTE II. This phone is the very definition of what would be considered a “world phone” by today’s standards, what with it featuring support for GSM, CDMA, UMTS, and LTE networks. It also supports high-speed HSDPA data which means that you’ll probably never have to endure painfully slow connections while using it to browse the Internet. It runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. And of course, it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed as standard.
With a large 4.7-inch 720x1280 pixel resolution LCD screen, the LG Optimus LTE II is definitely a handful. It is however a sexy 9mm thin and weighs in at just 148 grams. Plus, it manages to pack in a whole host of top-of-the-line hardware features such as Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi with hotspot and tethering capabilities, a variety of sensors to adjust the screen brightness and orientation, and most importantly a 2150 mAh battery that can give up to 10.5 hours of talk time per charge.
When it comes to the camera, the LG Optimus LTE II does not disappoint. It boasts an 8-megapixel sensor with 4x digital zoom that’s capable of recording video at 1080p. There’s also a front-facing camera that can be used for taking portrait shots, videoconferencing, or other applications.
If you think that anything with a screen that’s larger than 4-inches is a tad too big to hold comfortably in the hand, then you might want to steer clear of this phone. But if your needs coincide with what only the best hardware and software features can provide, then this phone, indeed this handheld tablet computer, just might be what you’re looking for.
