Kyocera DuraMax / Reviews

The DuraMax's feature set is about as basic as it gets. Kyocera and Sprint are obviously aiming at a particular market segment with this device: those who need a durable phone that makes good voice calls and does little else. In fact, there's really no other reason to get this device if you're not in need of a rugged handset that offers PTT powers.

My employer (a hospital) changed out Motorola Sprint phones to the Kyocera because Sprint changed something withthe push to talk feature and said the old phones would no longer work. Well, I got the new phone and my push to talk does not work, yet the few who hid when they did the exchange and still have Motorolas still work fine. The battery life stinks as well. I can not verify the talk time of 485 as I have yest to use it (I use my reliable LG-Verizon) but have to carry the Kyocera as a back up. In standby mode I have yet to have it last more than 48 hours!!! Even friends who are heavy users of their smart phones get longer battery life than this dumb phone!!!
