With the Desire C, you get what you pay for – a stylish smartphone that's good for light usage, but not much else.

It looks good and is really comfortable to handle

GSMArena team from GSMArena ( 11 months ago )

HTC seems to be taking the entry-level market more seriously than usual. Just look at the multiple versions of the Desire C, including dual-SIM support. Of course, HTC's entry level is different than say, Samsung's. What we mean is, there're obviously cheaper ways to own an Android smartphone. But the... More

A classy design and Android 4, but the screen and processor disappoint

At £150 from Three, the HTC Desire C is a reasonable buy if you want something a little more stylish than the raft of £100 Android cheapies; but only really if you're a big fan of HTC, and feel more comfortable with its spin on Android. However, you really should stretch to £200 and pick up the far-superior... More

For those after a phone that will introduce them to the world of touchscreens and apps, the HTC Desire C is a suitable handset. However, we can't help but think even the most inexperienced of smartphone users will soon get fed up of the handset's stuttering and poor web browser - although this can be... More

With the Desire C, you are getting exactly what you pay for, a budget phone but with the added bonus of Ice Cream Sandwich. If you are looking for a smartphone with the latest software for a low price this phone is suitable for you.As an entry level Android phone, it has a pretty good display, is small... More

A lovely device that is unfortunately just crying out for a faster processor

Chris from Tracy and Matt ( 11 months ago )

This one has been a real eye opener in to the world of the 'budget smartphone' because I have been truly surprised by how good the device is. Considering the specifications are really quite mediocre I have loved using it and was sad to see it go to be honest, but then I remembered that I have a HTC One... More

MobileBurn
A decent low-end handset with the latest version of Android on-board

Russell Jefferies from MobileBurn ( 11 months ago )

The HTC Desire C is a decent low-end handset with the latest version of Android on-board, but the hardware has been upgraded very little since the Wildfire S came out over a year ago, which leaves the handset feeling rather dated.

It's compact and cute, and will certainly get the job done for most standard tasks

The HTC Desire C is a fine low-end smartphone. It's compact and cute, and will certainly get the job done for most standard tasks. The price for this phone is just right. It's priced very closely to rivals such as the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and Motorola Defy+ or Mini. You should be able to find the... More

An excellent choice with a quality build and Android 4.0 skills out of the box

If decent performance from a palm sized phone is key, then the HTC Desire C is an excellent choice with a quality build and Android 4.0 skills out of the box. There’s no doubt the HTC Desire C offers value for money but it’s the prospect of  bigger screen that could ultimately tempt you away from... More

Nice styling and good build quality, runs Android 4.0 and has all the latest software features

It's always a difficult task to judge a budget phone as for some people the compromises made won't matter but for others they'll be fundamental – like the missing LED on the flash in this instance. Also, there's always the competition from second hand models to consider. But overall we think HTC has... More
