The Amaze 4G is a great phone. It’s build is great, the specs are solid in it and the camera will be a great point and shoot replacement. The battery life isn’t great and HSPA+ 42 Mbps is not available everywhere just yet but if your looking for an alternative to a Galaxy S2 and want a top Android phone on T-Mobile this is the one to get.
The Amaze 4G is well-named. It knocks almost every feature out of the park. Save for the crummy voice call quality and average battery life, it is superior than most of its stablemates on T-Mobile's retail shelves.

The Amaze 4G is well-named. It knocks almost every feature out of the park. Save for the crummy voice call quality and average battery life, it is superior than most of its stablemates on T-Mobile's retail shelves.
The display looks great, the hardware and build quality are excellent and look good, the calling and messaging features are the equal to any other Android phone, and there are plenty of options for social networking.
While the music- and video-consumption tools are excellent, the camera and video camera really set the bar for what smartphone cameras ought to be able to do. The camera opens fast, focuses fast, shoots fast, and saves fast. The pictures don't look like they were taken in a hurry, though. Rather, they often looks as you'd expect them to come from a professional camera.
Throw in the insanely fast internet speeds (when the right coverage is available) and a Formula 1 grade processor, and you have a winning combination.
I like the HTC Amaze 4G because it's a little different from the sea of "me too" smartphones competing among each other to be the fastest, the thinnest, the one with the largest screen.

I like the HTC Amaze 4G because it's a little different from the sea of "me too" smartphones competing among each other to be the fastest, the thinnest, the one with the largest screen.
It's a capable device, but the only real feature that sets it apart is the superior camera. It's the perfect phone for shutterbugs, but perhaps not for those looking for the absolute latest bleeding-edge smartphone. Its marginal performance making voice calls is a bit of a disappointment.
If you're more interested in taking photos of your daily adventures and sharing them with your friends than in showing off your phone, the Amaze could be a good choice for you.

Using the HTC Amaze has been like a breath of fresh air. It’s not often we have an emotional connection with a smartphone, but that is exactly what happened here. From its dual-toned aluminum design to its ample heft to its stunning screen we were left impressed time and time again. Like the Incredible S, we feel like the Amaze is a culmination of many months of R&D and lessons learned from some mediocre product offerings. This is the device the Sensation should have been, and though we’re pleased it’s finally here it is only because we haven’t played with the Galaxy Nexus that we’re able to bestow such honours.
When we look at the ultimately purpose of a smartphone — phone, messenger, social connector, camera, gaming device — the Amaze gratifies. We also have confirmation that it will be one of the first devices HTC updates to Android 4.0 in the new year, reassuring us of its potential longevity.
Whether it’s Telus’ best device is up for debate, but the Amaze is certainly HTC’s best device, and that’s good enough for us.

The HTC Amaze 4G for T-Mobile USA is a big, heavy, and ultimately powerful smartphone. It boasts very solid construction, good looks, and high performance features all around. It's 8 megapixel camera is among the best out there now, and the qHD resolution Super LCD display it uses is big, bright, and easy on the eyes. Apart from the hiss heard during voice calls, there's little wrong with this phone, and a whole lot of right. Whether T-Mobile users should pick up this device or Samsung's Galaxy S II is mostly a matter of taste, but you certainly can't go wrong with the HTC Amaze 4G.

There are just way too many options out there which simply offer more for you hard earned money.

With the Sensation 4G only being released in May we’re really not sure why T-Mobile felt the need to pick up the Amaze 4G. It is certainly a better device , but it doesn’t necessary fix the flaws or bring anything really different to the table. If you’re in the market for a new T-Mobile device the Amaze 4G is worth looking at along with the Samsung Galaxy S II, but if you’ve already got a Sensation 4G then you’re not missing much.

As a daily driver, the Amaze's bound to leave you high and dry a few short hours into your day, critically hampering your busy work / social schedule with its power-hungry demands. Sure, you can obsessively monitor your screen's brightness, manage syncing and hold off on the mobile video consumption until you're close by to an outlet, but the name of this industry game is wireless, and T-Mo's Galaxy S II's already out of the gate. Ignore this phone's battery life shortcomings, and you're left with an elegant camera module and T-Mobile's just out of reach 42Mbps HSPA+ dangling carrot. Simply put, it's just not practical to opt in for a high-end device that will, sporadically, treat you to downlink speeds that are half of what's been promised, and desert you in the process. At the end of the day, the purchase choice is yours to make, but for our money, we'd hold out for something packing a wee bit more milliampere-hours. The Amaze 4G XL with Beats, anybody? It's inevitable, and you know it.

If you’re an avid photographer, however, and you don’t want to lug around a point and shoot, this phone will definitely do the trick. Whereas previous Android iterations depended on gimmicks (the 3D phone, the huge screen phone), this one excels at picture taking in a way that will impress friends and family. This isn’t a camera for “in a pinch” situations. This is a standalone camera replacement.
Is the Amaze 4G worth the $249 price tag? Potentially, although I’d be hard-pressed to recommend it as a “phone” and not as a cameraphone. Sure it has all the right pieces in all the right places but it’s a bit too big, even in an era of huge phones. If you like the camera features, this is the phone for you. If you’re looking for a more well-rounded – and thinner – package, perhaps the Amaze will not amaze.
This phone is good for someone who is looking for a good reliable phone. I would suggest buying it unlocked. I got it for $299 at Mobilicity. I have a 35 dollar/month plan with unlimited internet.

-I have dropped this phone several times (I do have screen and a case protector with no damage)
-I can use the book reader if I need to read a book
-Google Play is pretty good
-the phone is small enough to fit into pockets, not bulky.
Cons
-Phone is a little heavy
-Front facing Camera is poor quality
-Auto rotate has a slight time delay
-Does not work very well with Slacker Radio Application (but not too many phones do)
-The battery life is only about one day! (especially with a heavy online user like myself)
