The BlackBerry Curve is one of the most popular and advanced devices from RIM to date, and the 8350i iteration affords the bonus of push to talk (PTT) functionality. PTT allows users to connect with up to 20 people, via a direct, virtually instant connection similar to a walkie-talkie.
Boasting a quality 2MP camera, improved trackball navigation that allows the user to move in any direction, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, autonomous GPS (works in conjunction with the included Blackberry Maps app), MicroSD memory expandability and much more, the BlackBerry Cure 8250i is a powerful phone that can handle many tasks from both the casual user and professional business person alike.
The BlackBerry Curve 8350i is also a bit of a departure from previous RIM devices in that it has a certain “fun factor” that is much better defined. Whereas prior models allowed for some casual, entertainment interaction, the BlackBerry Curve puts “fun” front and center with an easy-to-access Media icon that houses pictures, videos, music, ringtones and voice notes.
Add a contoured full Qwerty keypad, a large, high resolution screen and a time-honored text-based pop-up menu system and you have a wonderful device that is a genuinely capable of handling just about anything.
Pros: Quality RIM craftsmanship, solid build materials, unique and easy-to-use trackball interface, solid library of available, optional applications, easy-on-the-eyes display, excellent Qwerty keypad.
Cons: Deeper level functions not so intuitive (requires some learning), some learning curve required to fully realize the Curve’s true potential, more keystrokes required to get to an endpoint than some of its rivals.
Verdict: The BlackBerry Curve 8350i is a powerful, well-appointed phone that can handle daunting tasks and casual escapes with equal ease. This is an excellent phone which, though it may require a bit of study, will reward you with advanced functionality tenfold!

I manage a bank of over 60 Nextel phones. We utilized i580 phones for about three years. The direct connect feature is what lead us to Nextel, since most companies/agencies were using Nextel at the time and we could speak with others directly in a walkie talkie manner. We now, for about 5 months under... More

In the end it really is an outstanding phone, messaging device, personal communicator or whatever you want to call it. Telus' pricing is a bit steep at $249 on a three-year contract all the way up to $599 completely contract-free. Though, this is the absolute top of the heap in Telus' portfolio of Mike... More

The Curve is a big step in the revitalization of the Nextel brand. With the upcoming CABO it may not be the flagship device, but it is a powerful business tool and gives iDEN users a much needed refresh to the aging 7100i. The inclusion of the 4.6 OS and increased memory shows that Sprint... More
