The Alcatel One Touch 908 is an Android smartphone that has a limited feature-set, but within reason. It runs Android 2.2 Froyo by default, and only comes with 512MB of internal storage space. Its touchscreen display measures a rather small 2.8-inches diagonally and has a native resolution of 240x320 pixels. As you can see, its features are pretty limited but that seems reasonable given its true entry-level pricing.

Of course, the 908 is not completely lacking in useful features. It has Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, and microSD card support. In other words, it still offers enough to be a reliable day-to-day Android smartphone. Another thing that it has going for it is the fact that it weighs only 120 grams and measures just 12mm thick, plus it can last up to 22 days of standby time per charge.

If you ever tire of using the actual phone part of the device, you may also use it to play your favorite MP3 tracks. It can even be used to take pictures or record videos with the built-in 2MP camera. You can’t expect to get any high-quality output from these, but it’s more than enough for occasional use.

If you care more about what’s in your wallet than what’s inside your phone, then the Alcatel One Touch 908 should be able to handle all your mobile telephony needs.

Wind Mobile has curated a fine line of low-cost Android devices, and the Alcatel One Touch 908 is a good example of that. With excellent build quality and a robust featureset, it’s an excellent alternative to buying a feature phone on another network. It’s a great gateway smartphone, too;... More
