Why does gallery on the Samsung Galaxy S6 generate blank images when no pictures are taken?

Blank jpg images appear in Gallery on a daily basis. They appear as a batch, always between 30 and 40 of them, during the night. I have taken no photos with the camera for over a month, yet there they are each morning. The time shown in the details for each image shows they were captured from somewhere throughout the day yet they all appear in a single batch sometime after midnight. This bizarre phenomenon has only occurred since the April update of the operating system. What is going on - and, more importantly, how do I stop this? Tom

Try this: Go to Settings > Apps > Gallery > Clear Cache. Please let us know if that works.
