What's the SIM card for and how do to use it on the Apple iPad Air?

I just ordered an IPad Air online and got it. The invoice contains a sim number handwritten. But nothing like a physical card is enclosed.

You can buy a nano-SIM card from your carrier to have cellular connection. What carrier did you buy it from? or what carrier are you with? You need to check iPad plans they offer.

SIM is for your tablet to have 3G/4G internet connection.
