What does it mean when my Sonim XP7 flashes red?

My phone's antenna is flashing red. What does this mean. I know green is notifications but there's nothing.

My XP7 shot down by it self on the road! The battery charge was 48%! Impossible to turn on! I tried to put on charge but the LED flash red when I plugged! Why???

Usually, a red flashing LED notification means phone needs charging.
