Why does Samsung offer a 1 year warranty on a phone if they are not going to honor it?

I bought my Samsung Vice with a 3 year contract and a one year warranty on 07/31/2009. I had problems starting in December 2009. On January 2nd2010 I had the phone sent out for the first tme for the issues for the phone restarting when I was sending messages back and forth between mutiple people. I got it back 3 weeks later. Upset that I had all my games erased from my phone I called to care. It took me 5 tries to get someone on the line that promised me that if I download the 4 games again I would not be charged. So I did that night. The next day Had the same text issues with my phone.

So i got back on the phone with Bell and this time I was in the middle to talking to a lady that I though was going to help me and then she was gone and I was placed back on hold with out a warring a french man form tech got on the line and told me that I had to send my phone back. So doing as I was told walked in to the bell store again at the next chance I got and had it sent away.

Once again got the phone back 3 weeks later. This time I was not shocked when the return repair order showed "full sw upgrade and phone reset." (the same as the last one) Got home used it again. This time not only is my phone restarting with text messaging. But if I have 3 alarms set to go off the first one will with a sound and the second will not and the third will not go off at the right time becaue the time has changed on the phone.

That night called back to tech did the troubleshooting they wanted me to do and did as instructed and went back to the store for the 3rd time. So I spoke with the store rep and he promised me that if this time it comes back not working again he won't just have the manager replace the phone. I though this is great now I'm going to get some where.

I got the call back 3 weeks later again my phone was ready. I went in picked it up and started to use the phone. Then it got worse I got home my husband broke his phone and wanted to use my old one that I had been using when my phone was being repaired. I had to problem what that because I was going to get a new one if mine did not work.

less then a week later I find my self walking in to the store again to talk with the same store rep. It was great timing because the manager was there. But he was the worst I have ever spoken to. His words " I don't care what he promised you that's not my job to replace your phone I will only send it for repair, but Samsung will replace the phone after they recieve the same one back 4 times." I'm like great if it works. So i sent the phone out and got a phone to borrow in the mean time.

Just got the call today my phone has just came back from Samsung. I picked up the same non working phone. Called to tech and referenced the repair order She just laughed at me and told me they did not do anything to it. Because it was not freezing when they called out on it. My response was The repair order said that it was freezing when text was being used. Shes like the person in store who placed the order did not say that. I had to speak with a manager in tech and was told to have the phone sent back in again. and I will have to keep doing that till my phone works and they can not guarantee that the phone will work.

The question that I have for them is what is the point at even giving out a 1 year warranty on the phone if your not going to fix it?
