Will the warranty cover the repair of the charging port on the Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen)?

I bought a moto g 2nd gen last October. It will not charge any longer and I am told it is due to the fact that the charging port is not working. Will the 1 year manufacturers warranty cover this?
