How can you unlock the Audiovox CDM 8910BM?

I bought used phone from ebay to replace lost one for our bell mobility plan, after bidding i noticed it said the phone was locked. Is there a way to unlock the phone so its not a total loss of money. After checking with bell i can use the phone, but the previous owner has used the lock function, is there any way of changing or finding out the code so not all is lost . thank you in advance:cry:
