Should you cancel your cell plan because of recent WHO research?
Recently the WHO/International agency for research On cancer have shown recent proof that cell phones can cause cancer. And because of this I'd like to cancel my cell phone Plan without penalty?

The recent World Health Organization research asserts that cellphones are "possibly" carcinogenic toward humans and have placed them in the same cancer-causing category as gasoline engine exhaust and coffee.
If you are concerned about the potential effects of cell phones on your health then giving up on your cellphone may be your best option, although it is unrealistic for many people. Alternatively, you could take care when using your phone. Here are a few tips:
- keep your conversations brief
- hold your phone away from your head if possible (speakerphone, wired headset)
- avoid calls when signal is weak
- avoid calls in confined spaces such as your car or in elevators
As for cancelling your plan without penalty, that is something you'd have to discuss directly with your cell phone service provider. My best guess is that you are going to have a hard time getting out of your signed contract on grounds of this research. We'd be keen to know how you make out however. Do keep the rest of us posted.
