Open your file manager and then find the mp3 file or files you want to use as ringtones.
Select those files and use the “Copy” option featured in the file manager and copy those files.
Now navigate to the Ringtones folder in your phone’s internal storage and copy the files into that folder.
Now you can exit the file manager and go directly to ringtone settings.You will find your copied files also along with the default one’s.Now it’s time to select the music of your choice and hear it whenever someone calls.

copy the ringtone from your external memory to your phone memory and set the ringtone.
it works for me.
It is very simple! Rename the ringtone extension to ".m4a". It will only take .m4a files and will not help .mp3 files.
Try moving the ringtone to folder media > audio > notification.

If I set mp3 music as my ringtone. Using phone ringtone folder it is not working. If i check the ringtone status.. If it is in on mode.. Not working.. Need help. How to clarify.
its very simple , just copy the tune and paste it in device ringtone folder, then go to setup- notification & sound-phone ringtone- select the tune -click ok.
