If phone gets wet, can you still be able to retrieve your contacts?

Am I able to retrieve phone numbers from a phone which went swimming.  Not sure if phone works at all.  Does SIN card remain numbers?

  • Do not turn on your phone. Remove the battery, memory card and SIM then put those inside a jar filled with uncooked rice. Seal the jar and let it stay there for a few days. The rice should absorb the moisture in your phone. This is not an assurance that your phone will be completely fixed from the water damage. This just might give you enough time to turn on your phone and retrieve important files and information in it.
