Pearl WhiteIt's been the stuff of rumors for many weeks but now the white version of the Blackberry Pearl is finally official and oh-so available - at least for T-Mobile subscribers.

Too bad the iPhone didn't go for the all-white color-scheme that its products are famous for, so we're robbed of a real "match-up" (wink, wink). The White Pearl is priced at $150 with a two-year contract with T-Mobile, which is approximately one-third the price of an Apple iPhone from Cingular. If VocaLabs is to be believed, T-Mobile remains ahead of Cingular on customer satisfaction, which, UI and touch control notwithstanding, puts the BlackBerry option well ahead, especially for people who for some reason has a deep abhorrence to spending 500 bucks on a smartphone and a two-year Cingular plan.

The specs have not changed on the white version. The BlackBerry Pearl White is a quadband GSM with EDGE just like the iPhone, TFT screen with 240 x 260 Pixels, 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3, iTunes, WMA all supported, SureType predictive text, Intel XScale processor and RIM's proprietary Blackberry Desktop Software.

Note: The color of this Pearl is officially known as "pearl white."
